There was disagreement in the patch on whether or not a microversion was
necessary to fix this (I don't think it is but that's just my opinion
here). We could have fixed this in the general cleanup 2.75 microversion
but forgot about it, so I'm just going to mark this as won't fix since
it doesn't

Hi!
I believe this is an issue with ifupdown, rather than cloud-init. As
such, I've added an ifupdown task and marked cloud-init's task as
Invalid. If it's determined that we won't fix this in ifupdown, then
please move the cloud-init task back to New and we can consider working
around this in
Hi! I don't think this is a bug with cloud-init, so I'm going to mark
this as Invalid. Please file a bug against Ubuntu generally if you
still are seeing this issue.
Thanks!

User changes applied by cloud-init to /etc/resolv.conf may get
clobbered.
The netconfig tool manages a symlink from /etc/resolv.conf to
/var/run/netconfig/resolv.conf. When cloud-init writes dns information
it opens the file, i.e. in this case /var/run/netconfig/resolv.conf
