The patch is simple e.g. try: consumer = CONSUMERS[topic][0] except (KeyError, IndexError): - return iter([None]) + raise rpc_common.Timeout() but Nova's unit tests break massively with this change, so they'd need to be fixed first The oslo.messaging fake driver already does the right thing.
