I am using the dylan version of poky, and including perl. This
builds fine with perl selected in hob, but if I also select the perl-modules
item, I get the error message 'nothing rprovides ncurses-libncurses' and the
build fails.

use the ext3 file system image, though, the /boot/bzImage is
missing. Manually copying the image into the boot folder allows boot, and
there are no other issues I can see.

As for putting the image on a cf card, it may depend on which file system
you would use.
I am using ext3 on a cf card, following the instructions for installing to a
hard drive on this page:
