Hello Mother People, Freaks, Zappateers...etc. etc. Saw Zappa plays Zappa in Phoenix,AZ, Wednesday night June 21, 2006. Some electrical glitches with the video of Frank at the Roxy at the start of the show.(sound , no picture) They stopped the video, the band came out and started the concert. It was a GREAT show. They looked good and sounded great! The sax player (Scheila Gonzalez)could solo like a mutha-fucker. Billy Hulting on percussion had the intricate parts DOWN. Napoleon Murphy Brock! Talented, Enjoyable Front Man. Joe(the vault-meister)Travers plays drums really,really well. Dweezils' guitar solo on Inca Roads...brought tears to my eyes! It was stunning! Standing ovation worthy. Dweez said he took two years to learn his dads' playing style and it paid off. Dweezil imitates Frank, but has his own voice. Terri Bozzio was injured. His right arm had a bicep problem, sooooooo..... he sang a couple of songs as the "front man" and performed Punkys Whips behind his drum set using his "good" arm. Mildly disappointing, but hey he's not a youngster and a one arm Terri is better than many two armed drummers. Steve Vai just ripped his guitar to shreds (How does he do it?) Black Page is always impressive. I miss Frank immensely, but this sure helped ease my pain. I go now , Good night and/or Good morning to everyone in Zappa land.
