Hi, I have been a Zappa fan since 1981. My college roomate got me into him with the Sheik Yerbouti album. Originally I just liked the funny songs but grew to really appreciate his musical genius. Although I like pretty much like all types of music, I normally listen to hard classic rock (KISS, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Deep Purple etc). My friends were kind of shocked when I came home from school preaching the virtues of Frank.
Unfortunately, I never got to see Frank live. I went to see Zappa Plays Zappa at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia on June 11th and was blown away. I knew Dweezil was a good guitarist. I have his Having a Bad Day album. Musically, it is very good (heavy) but his vocals are pretty bad. I'm glad he decided to just play guitar and not sing. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go to the show on Halloween at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Hopefully, he will continue to tour in the coming years. It was great to hear those songs come to life again. I'm looking forward to learning more from this group. Great Googliemooglie!!!! Bob ------------------------ Yahoo!
