Position: Sr. JAVA Developer Location: McLean, VA Duration: 6 months Rate: ALAP Required: prior mortgage industry experience Purpose: To support development needs for Analytics & Risk Management's P0292-2009 Model Stability & Controls projects Project Description: Reduce the probability of using erroneous data to initialize models that support trading and financial analysis by simplifying the data input process and enhancing data entry controls. The Close of Business (COB) process generates data that feeds into other internal and external models such as the Default and Pre-Payment models. Current COB input processes are complicated and increase the risk of errors which results in Workbench downtime and model unavailability. This project creates a uniform data input and validation process across all trading desks and enables direct flow of data to the Integrated Portfolio Management System (IPMS) database BTI: P0292 Statement: Develop good quality software in a fast paced environment to support monthly production releases for multiple Model Stability & Control projects. Work effectively and closely with a small group of developers and technical leads to enhance existing Analytical GUI and batch applications. Provide active participation in and contribution to various reviews, and understand Requirements and Design thoroughly. Design, execute, and document unit test cases for assigned development tasks. Provide active troubleshooting, analysis, and debugging support during various testing cycles including System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing. Communicate progress and status of development tasks and issues to technical leads and project managers on a periodic and prompt basis. Interact effectively with business analysts, testing team members, and business area users on various project tasks as needed. Engage and coordinate with various Technology Infrastructure teams (DBAs, System Administrators, Deployers etc.,) whenever needed, to fulfil and implement relevant project tasks including database table creation, deployments, etc., Work on emergency bugfixes and other scheduled maintenance development activities for enhancements/functionality deployed to production. Skill: Senior (7+ yrs) Skills: 5+ years programming experience with the following Java technologies: J2SE (Swing), J2EE, WebLogic. Java IDE (Eclipse, preferred) Strong understanding and application of GoF patterns. Thorough knowledge of HTML, XML, and parsing. Strong background in Sybase, DB2, and SQL Unix Shell Scripting AutoSys (preferred) Experience with Perl helpful Change management experience - ClearQuest, Clearcase.
