The developers will work in the creation, maintenance, optimization, etc. of libraries and tools based for the most part in scripting technologies in a Windows environment. Responsibilities: Develop libraries and tools from documented requirements/specifications. Maintain, refactor, and optimize existing JavaScript libraries. Document source code for use with Doxygen documentation-generation tool. Perform unit testing of code. Perform system testing of code. *Desired Experience:* Minimum of 7 years professional software development experience, with a significant part of it on object-oriented design and programming. Need to have significant experience designing and developing objects. Minimum of 2 years professional software development experience using JavaScript. Would prefer to see a lot of JavaScript in the professional background. Significant experience developing software using C/C++. Significant experience contributing to all aspects of the full Software Development Life Cycle of software products. Significant experience working on projects involving software and hardware products in a quality assurance/test environment. Significant experience with Software Configuration Management tools. *Qualifications:* Excellent written/verbal communication and analytical abilities, with good planning, organizational, and follow-up skills. I want to make sure there isn't an assumption that this type of experience is necessary (or of special value) for this position. Although, we deal with our STB products, the systems we develop in our team don't deal with low-level implementation details at all, so it is inconsequential that the STBs are embedded systems. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have this experience on account of software development experience. I hope this helps. Technically, the focus has been on object oriented methodology, and amount of time on C++ vs. C. Javascript is important to them. They use JS in the box itself, as opposed to web enablement to enable scripting access to objects embedded . Non-technical focus was on ability to work independently, hit the ground running, work in an intelligently organized fashion in a structured environment. Important to have very significant experience designing specifically using object oriented techniques.
