Title: Red Hat Engineer Location:Dallas, TX Duration: 3months Skills: *Make sure the resume has all of the required skills listed in detail (Kickstart, JavaScript, OOP, Oracle, Redhat Linux and what version, Solaris, etc.).* Red Hat Engineer, either certified or one who feels as though they are equivalent. Strong experience with kickstart – must be able to explain the process during the interview. Strong scripting / programming in any of bash, python, perl, php, java, or javascript. Must understand mid-level scripting concepts such as modules, object-oriented programming, lists, and string processing. Must be able to solve hard problems with Red Hat using online resources and working with Red Hat support engineers. I'm interested in Red Hat Linux SPECIALISTS who know about: •Kernel memory management •Bonding NICs •Multipath I/O for SAN traffic •Scripting (bash at minimum, python or Jython preferred) •Kickstart customization (custom package lists, scripting of configuration settings) •Enterprise environment requirements (redundant components across the board, 24x7 uptime without excuses, formal documentation to advance to the next step, etc.) •Dot.com experience (Internet scale problems with connections and server loads, large user session counts, cutting edge technology, thinking on your feet) •Problem solving mentality (detectives, dogged and relentless – think about who the Pinkertons would hire) •How to disagree with someone in a civil and professional manner •The importance of showing up to work and other soft skills I do not want someone who is clever and can figure it out. I want someone who is clever and figured it out already somewhere else. I offer a fair wage and the chance to work with other clever people who will teach what they know. Things that would be good are Oracle 10g RAC experience helping out a DBA, Solaris 9 or 10 engineering, SAN or NAS experience, Cisco networking, firewall and VPN administration, IBM WebSphere Application Server experience.. .
