Gunnar, thanks for your inquiry. As it says on my Zim for Windows page < http://www.glump.net/software/zim >, Zim 0.52 contains a show-stopper bug (#783811) that prevents it from working correctly in Windows. At the time, I assumed 0.53 release would be coming soon and I also specifically did not

Dear all, Just uploaded the 0.52 bug fix release to the website. The critical bug in the previous release which prevented new users to create the first notebook has been fixed. Please replace 0.51 packages with 0.52 as soon as possible, since 0.51 is broken for new users. Regards, Jaap
