China early on gave stuff to India, but hasn't for about 20 years.
Instead, they now tend to be with Pakistan on issues, and have given much
technology to Pakistan.
China views it as part of their regional balance of power. They keep

I'm talking about two different points in time. For the past 2-3 decades China and
India have not been particularly friendly -- China and Pakistan were. But there was
a time when China provided technology to India. I remember that they also provided
aid to India after the great Gujarat earthquake l

they have helped fund N Korea and Pakistan efforts.

Although we are still technically better and more skilled, their numbers
allow them an advantage we don't have. A war with them would end up in
mass casualties on both sides. And they wouldn't fear using the bomb,

Well, I can say that I do know. China has spent billions on new
technology in the last decade. They have purchased much of it, such as
ICBM technology during the Clinton era (under the guise of satellite

Anyone who does business in China will soon learn that the military gets the best,
just like the old Soviet Union. In fact, generals and other senior officers are
allowed now (since 1985) to get involved as partners on joint ventures with
foreign firms, which brings in technology (not to mention mo
I dunno, Paul -- you should see what's happening in areas like Chongqing, the
Pearl River Delta (Guangdong-Hong Kong) and Shanghai these days. It would amaze
you. I've posted a picture of Shanghai that an LDS friend took during a recent
trip there. You can see it at:
