I wanted to announce a community-led initiative to create a ZODB book.
The goal is to solicit contributions from the community and when we
reach a threshold, Carlos de la Guardia will begin work on writing the
book.

advance for Carlos to begin work -- the project
will be aborted.

achieved our initial financial goal to get an advance to Carlos de la Guardia.
He will begin planning and writing.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but I did not find
any dedicated list for the book, and for such a probably useless
suggestion, I felt this is more volatile than an issue at github.
The suggestion is to (provisionally) publish the zodb book built as html
as github pages

work continues on the ZODB book project. We just added API docs
(thanks to Dag Odenhall).

There is enough material now for people to consider helping us in
reviewing or start suggesting more advanced topics (an article about
conflict resolution is in the works).
One more thing: forgot to say that you can fork the project on Github
and I can integrate your pull requests easily!

That is the goal from the beginning. We should talk to Alan Runyan
about this, but I guess the idea is to assign copyright to the Zope
Foundation.
