Yeah you are. Use another Version of Zope 2.8 as the iungo page suggests. It
clearly states that .zexp import is *broken* in 2.8.1 - use 2.8.5 instead.

Updating to Zope 2.8.6 and using PloneBoard with 2.1.2, as Jens mentioned is a
solution which is quite easy to do. Another Option might be the new zForum
Release, wich can be integratet in Plone now. But it ist more complex and you
will need an additional SQL Database (MySQL/PostGres).

You might want to check out DeadlockDebugger which should give you more
information, what your Zope is doing. And you can use Tools like Nagios to check
wheter your Zope is answering.
