The tool lets developers turn Java language source code into C#. MS also has updated the status of Visual J#.NET, which lets Java developers convert to .NET technologies. That tool should be ready after June of this year. DOS FLAW DISCOVERED IN ISC BIND-BASED SERVERS | SearchSecurity A vulnerability in core Internet software, ISC BIND, could allow an outsider to shut down a domain name server and create a denial-of-service condition. http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid14_gci831035,00.html LINDOWS SHOWCASES DOWNLOAD FEATURE | InternetNews Microsoft has another reason to loathe Lindows. The company has released the "broadband operating system" portion of its Windows-friendly Linux. Customers can buy it and tailor their applications via the Internet. That's an ability many software companies are still working on but cannot offer. Microsoft has tried to shut down Lindows' Web site, saying the name sounds too much like "Windows." So far, the company can't get a judge to agree. HP: ENTERPRISE BUSINESS FOUNDATION FOR MERGER, FUTURE | SearchHP Peter Blackmore, HP's new Enterprise Systems Group head man, told financial analysts Tuesday in Boston that the combined company's enterprise business is nipping at the heels of IBM, Sun and EMC for server and storage leadership. http://searchhp.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid6_gci830949,00.html The headlines above and others are available on our news page. >> Full Stories: http://searchsolaris.techtarget.com/news/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= StarOffice | SearchSolaris Featured Topic Check our featured topic each day this week as we examine Sun's decision to charge for its StarOffice personal productivity software. What if you're already using BEA's WebLogic application server? Am I better off porting my apps to the Sun One architecture, or should I forget the server software is there and keep using BEA? A survey released by none other than Microsoft found that one in 10 office workers blamed the maze of wires and cables around their desks for making them spill their drinks. That's more than five million cups of splattered tea every week in the U.K. The average desk is tied up by nearly 50 feet of wiring -- enough to mug a mug, steal its contents and throw it on the ground. None of the people polled confessed to being a cubicle klutz. You may be thinking, "Someone at Redmond got paid to do this?" But, consider this -- Microsoft is coming out with a wireless keyboard.
