LEAD STORY

Analyst, admins review Sun's RaQ 550 and V120 servers

Customers are generally pleased with two of the newest additions to
Sun's low-end server line, the Sun Fire V120 and the Sun Cobalt RaQ
550. But, as one industry analyst points out, Sun must maintain a
strong software stack if it wants to keep pace with competitors in
the low-end space. (SearchSolaris)

SUN TO ROLL OUT SAN TOOLS | eWEEK
Sun's going to have some big storage news next week -- SAN 4.0 will
hit the showroom. The company is also working on a tool that will
monitor its own, as well as Hitachi's storage products; a suite with
new features for predictive trending, custom reports, and financial
applications support; and another set of tools for data replication
across data centers.

SOLARIS 9 TO DRIVE FUJITSU SERVERS | ZDNet
Fujitsu Technology Solutions is down with Solaris 9. The company's
Primepower servers, which use Sparc64 GP processors, support Solaris
9 and the software that goes with it. Fujitsu officials said they're
pleased with the tougher security Solaris 9 brings.

ZANDER: HP MERGER GIVES SUN AN EDGE | ZDNet
Sun's soon to be former president said this week that the HP/Compaq
merger means bright days ahead for Sun. Ed Zander announced several
HP customers are now shopping around and want to see what Sun has to
offer, thanks to HP/Compaq's "narrowing focus" and waffling.

THE MISSING LINK | Virus girl finds hacker boyfriend

She infected her way to fame by giving the world its first C# virus.
He hacked his way into notoriety by helping trash the White House Web
site. Now, their mutual love of malicious code conquers all.
Gigabyte, the 18 year-old Belgian who surprised the world with her
virus writing skills, as well as her youth and gender, has found her
script kiddie soulmate in 20-year-old Nostalg1c. Think of them as the
geek equivalent of Britney and Justin. The two first met a couple of
years ago on the Internet (there's a shock!) but decided to upgrade
their connection about a month ago. Nostalg1c says his Web site
vandalism days are over -- he's content to be Gigabyte's guy.
