This week the company confirmed that the new version will be ready next month and will pack support for such Web services standards as SOAP and WSDL. The company also said that efforts are underway to simplify Java code. But if you want open-source Java, don't hold your breath. JUDGE SETS TIMETABLE FOR JAVA-LOADED WINDOWS | Reuters Microsoft and Sun could not agree on when MS should start shipping Java with Windows. So a federal judge made the decision. Gates and company have to get the Java-loaded Windows out the door within 120 days. So there! SUN'S RICHARD GREEN SAYS RULING WILL BOOST JAVA | Computerworld Sun's vice president and general manager for Java and XML says that the federal court's impending "must-carry Java" decision will aid corporate developers by assuring distribution of the most up-to-date version of the Java platform. BROCADE EXPANDS DEAL WITH SUN | ServerWatch Brocade Communications Systems, a maker of storage area network infrastructure, has announced plans to expand its reseller agreement with Sun. Under the expanded agreement Sun will make Brocade's SilkWorm 3200 8-port Entry Fabric Switch available through its reseller and direct sales channels worldwide.
