In yesterday's meeting we heard Ingy's Package talk, and an update on
the server bill. There was a request to discuss "signal processing and
radio programming" but we didn't have time for it. Since there is no
other topic scheduled for June, I propose a signal processing meeting.
Could somebody put together a talk and/or discussion agenda for that?
Remember that people like me don't know what signal processing is, we
have vague connotations of audio editing, so a short introduction for
newbies would be welcome.

The server bill was originally $239.40. It's now down to $199.99.
Thanks for donations from Wilhelm Fitzpatrick, David Dyck, John
DeRosa, Randolph Fritz, John Mark, and several people who put dollar
bills in a pile too fast for me to keep track of. The bill covers May
2010 - April 2011. It's a linode.com virtual server running Ubuntu.
There was a bit of discussion about moving to a cheaper provider or
cloud provider, but it was auto-renewed and may be difficult to get a
refund, and we do get some extra disk space for our annual payment. In
any case, the server is fine and there's no need to move, but we can
revisit the issue next year.

This also brought to mind that the nonprofit status would have been
useful for this. I thought SeaPIG's only expenses were the occasional
Python Day, but I forgot about the server bill until it came.

The Package talk is in my next email.
