Cool project. This might be a good time to mention Beaglebone black (Arm cortex A8, $45). I have had good results running python and self-hosting a little dev env with ipython notebook and openCV.
I know the kickstarter is for a microcontroller implementation, but this is available hardware with good IO (just throw away the node stuff the board ships with). I'd be interested in hearing from anybody else using it. -Dan On Nov 13, 2013, at 5:13 PM, Kevin LaTona <[email protected]> wrote: > > On Nov 13, 2013, at 4:45 PM, Chris Barker <[email protected]> wrote: > >> very cool: >> >> "I re-wrote python from scratch" > > > > As quoted by a guy we all know and respect that has the perspective to have > seen them all. > >> Famous last words of alternate Python implementations... > > > > > Yet…………….. ! > > > > Even when it looks like someone is reaching for blue sky. > > Some days you just have to blindly support that dreamer. > > As every once in a while. > > They manage to grab on to………………….. a piece of it. > > > > >> >> -- you gotta love it! > > > > > Exactly…. which is why I ordered one…… hoping it gets funded. > > > > > > >> >> -Chris >> >> On Wed, Nov 13, 2013 at 4:02 PM, Kevin LaTona <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>> >>> If so, stop by here and help make it happen. >>> >>> http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/214379695/micro-python-python-for-microcontrollers >>> >>> >>> Micro Python: Python for microcontrollers by Damien George — Kickstarter >>> >>> >>> -Kevin >> >> >
