But hey Django is amazingly popular for startup projects as well. Where as NodeJS really is an async engine. The JS world has so many web framework ideas coming out every other day. That none so far appears to have grabbed center stage yet like a Django and RoR have. I still say because Python is such a good overall tool that cuts across so many market segments. That it's diversity adds an interesting twist as to why getting local meetings going is a bit more work. I should mention that the Thursday eve hack nights hosted by Seattle Django. Also cover more general Python topics as well general web and javascript. It's open to all levels of Python folks who want to hang out to talk and code on Thursday night. It's usually a fun night and a good bunch of people to hang with. -Kevin
