I'm no linguist, but I'll try to explain this colorful bit of English:

"Knock out" usually means the loss of consciousness caused by one or more blows
to the head, as in boxing.  In this colloquialism it is a short form of a longer
sentiment:

"For all I care, you may try doing that [whatever 'that' may be] repeatedly
until you fall to the ground unconscious -- knowk yourself out -- for your efforts."
