I have two redhat 7.1 servers.
One uses Intel Pentium-III and PIIX4 ide controller and the other uses AMD athlon and via vt82c686b ide controller. The former works well in UDMA100 mode but the latter works in UDMA33 not in UDMA100. I have heard in the news group that the kernel offered by seawolf may cause problem with the via chipset. Is it true?
If so, is there no solution for that problem
like the bug-fixed kernel package or the special
configuration?
Thanks.
