It's been years since I last saw WordPerfect in use; "everyone" uses MS
Office in Norway. From what I've heard, there are no other countries where
MS has such a high market share, and Linux is spreading slower than most
other countries because the (l)users are 100% hung up in MS Office. The
reason is simple: people receive doc/xls/ppt files by email from
customers/partners/whatever every day and the only way they can be sure to
keep up is by feeding the Microsoft monster.

It's sad and probably like cursing on this list, but it's the truth from my
point of view :-(

Another reason for WP's low market share is that the first versions of WP
for Windows were slow and cumbersome with menu options hidden away in the
strangest places. This chased away a lot of people who had the choice
between that and MS Office around 94-96.
