Not completely correct. WinNT/2k wants to boot from the fist NTFS or
VFAT partition. Further this partition *must* be a primary partition,
not a logical one. On all my systems the first partition (hda1) is ext2
/boot to take care of the 1024 cylinder boundary (some of my old mobos
don't support LBA32 mode). Windows just doesn't see partitions which are
not FAT or NTFS.
You can even boot WinNT on hdb while lilo resides on MBR of hda. Just
tell lilo in the other=... section to re-map the drives in the BIOS from
0x80 to 0x81 and vice versa. See the lilo.conf someone has posted
earlier in this thread or in the flamebait thread.
Lilo is *quite* useful! :-))
