This us what is in my /etc/modules.conf

alias sound-slot-0 opl3sa2
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null
2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/nul
2>&1|| :

The card is reported as a Microsoft Sound System with the following
configuration.

ICQ=9, DMA=1,3
IO= 0100-0101 = OPL3-SA2, 0530-0533=WSS Config 0534-0537=MS Sound System

My System log shows it as the following.

Jul 15 08:50:01 romulas kernel: opl3sa2: Found OPL3-SA3 (YMF715E or YMF719E)
Jul 15 08:50:01 romulas kernel: opl3sa2: 1 PnP card(s) found.

sndconfig detects my card straight off with out any problems. Bearing in mind
that my card is in a desktop machine and is an actuall ISA card and not just
a chip on the mother board.

Hope that helps.
