find . -mount | cpio -pvdum /top/of/new/locataion

Its my understanding that cp doesn't preserve links, only dereferences them,
which isn't the same at all. cpio on the other hand requires you feed it a list
first which makes it better than tar/cp for backing up or mirroring purposes,
imho.
