I'm running RedHat 7.1, and just did the update to Kernel 2.4.2-2 via
up2date. Since upgrading the kernel, I have the following two problems.
Suggesions would be greatly appreciated.

1) My USB Zip drive will no longer mount or unmount. Sometimes when I boot,
the Zip drive comes up mounted, other times it doesn't. And no matter which
state it's in, I cannot take it to the other state.

2) When I do a reboot, it freezes at the "shutting down automount" stage and
refuses to go any further. I've left it and come back 8 hours later and it's
still frozen at that point, and the only way to force a reboot is with the
reset button. Even the 3-fingered salute doesn't usually work at that point.

Any ideas for how to fix either of those problems? I've tried going back to
the old (backup) kernel, and whatever broke when I updated my kernel is now
broken in the old kernel, too.
