syslog logging to a remote host

I cannot get this %^#%$ to work

Here's a piece of my syslog.conf

mail.*                                                 @logger

This host logger is listed in /etc/hosts aswell

Just on the logger machine, I receive nothing from that machine.

What am I doing wrong?

ps. the logger machine is a Mandrake system but shouldn't matter
