Thanks Michael. It seems noone wants to believe what I tell them lately or
think I'm a moron and don't know what I am talking about.
chkconfig DOES let you set what daemons are run at what run level. It ALSO
lets you turn services in /etc/xinetd.d on or off when xinetd starts. Try
it for yourself and then open the file and see the disable= change to
whatever you set.
