Sendmail for dummies,any document?

Hi!

Anyone knows any doc that explain vell sendmail? Is driving crazy to me ,rejects relay 
from any other 
machine " can�t find PTR" and my pop program (imap of redhat rmp packages,updated to 
redhat updates)
when I connect in local runs well,when i connect from other machine of my network I 
enter user ok
enter password ok ,and later  has a delay about 10 seconds before be ready for accept 
commands.

Any suggestion or idea will be appreciated.
