Hello,
A few weeks ago I installed 7.1 version 2.4.2-2 on an
old Compaq laptop. Everything seems to be fine and
I'm slowly learning Linux.
One problem. When I restart, it shuts down fine and
then stalls on restart. The screen is just bits of
colors and a few broken lines of text that looks like
"un com piling Lin ux" and then I can't do a thing.
Doesn't go any further. When I turn power off and
then back on, it starts up just fine.
Short version of the question: "halt" works and
"restart" doesn't. What can I do to fix it?
