        Do you have telnet or ssh running ?  The easiest way to go about
it is to get nmap (http://www.insecure.org/nmap) and scan yourself (doing
an "nmap -sT localhost" is sufficient and does not even require root).  By
default telnet is turned off in RH7.1  Report back and we'll continue if
you don't have any luck.

P.S.: You might want to turn things on/off under /etc/xinetd.d/ to have
telnet and ssh running/not running depending on what you'd want.
