Your version of LILO is old and /boot isn't at the front of the disk.

As I stated before, use a bootdisk, upgrade LILO, write the MBR, and
reboot.

Bootdisks aren't bad, though, if you dd the kernel image out to a floppy.
If you use mkbootdisk, then it'll be slow.
