You don't need to mount an audio cd to play it. I can't think of why
you would want to mount one because it doesn't have a filesystem on
it, and you typically mount a filesystem to make it appear as part of
your main filesystem.
Are you having trouble playing CDs? Or do you want to copy a music CD?
To play from the command-line, just type cdplay (assuming you have the
cdp package installed...it's on Seawolf Disc1). If you want to copy a
cd, you might look into readcd, which is part of the cdrecord package.
Or, easier, use xcdroast.
