It would be helpful to have specific error messages please. Use an xterm
(the icon looks like a monitor in Ximian) and execute Mozilla from there.
This should leave error messages on the screen in your xterm. Please post
those to help us help you.

I have successfully used Ximian and many Mozilla versions -- only
occasionally as root, but -- with no problems like you describe.

Please also describe briefly the method you obtained Mozilla (from
Ximian?) and how it was installed.

Execute this command and post the results also:

$ rpm -qa | grep mozilla

Try this command to remove your existing Mozilla configuration for root:
It will be backed up in a directory called "oldmozconfig".

as root
# cd;mv .mozilla oldmozconfig

Restart Mozilla as root and see if it works now with a fresh
configuration.

Hope this helps,
Ryan
