Hi All
I've got seawolf installed for a long time.
Apache ( all modules ),
Php ( all modules ),
MySql ( all modules )
were installed by me from the almost first beginning until yesterday
afternoon.
In the rest, I'm not connected to the Internet, my hostname is
both localhost and ortolojf.noos.fr as 127.0.0.1.
At a time, I ran mysql as ortolojf, so succeded in sending some SQL
requests to my 'turf' database. Afterwards, after having activated Apache
( service httpd start ) as root, I started Netscape as ortolojf, then
tried running a new Php script I was being making up to date.
The beginning of my problems, is when I tried to run mysql from an
xterm, as ortolojf. I got this error:
In /usr/lib/libreadline.so.4.1 undefined reference to
server_ixxxxnternal ( with some y with umlaut instead of the x )
By so far, I doubt any such named reference might be about to exist
either in the mysql program, or the mysqld server, so I suspected a disk
I/O error, but when I retried running mysql from the text command line, I
got always the same error.
As in my little spirit, the trio Apache/MySql/Php was combined anyway, I
deleted all these rpms yesterday evening, and I'm getting prepared to
install them again soon.
This morning, I tried checking my HD with e2fsck -f -c -v -y /dev/hda5
There was no bad block error, but the filesystem was modified.
It's very few probable the RAM ( 256MB SDRAM ) is the cause, for that's
an Infineon SDRAM, a high cost memory chip.
My question remains: What did cause this error? It was the very first
time this error happened, though I have been using MySql/Php/Apache on
seawolf for a relatively long time.
Any advices greatly appreciated.
Long life to RedHat.
Best regards.
Jean Francois Ortolo
