Yeah, this must be a permission problem for regular users when using
ide-scsi... as root, works fine, but even after (when I'm sure all the
modules are loaded) it still doesn't for regular users that have r/w access
to /dev/scd0 (which /dev/cdrom points to).

Is there another device the user should have higher permissions on, like a
generic scsi /dev entry or something? Maybe for this kind of "raw" ripping
access it's required... I'll investigate a bit more but if anyone knows the
answer, don't hesistate ;-)
