Just got this on a newly booted machine:

[root@cnedra root]# init 1
...
no job control in this shell
[root@cnedra root]# fg
bash: f: command not found
[root@cnedra root]# g_<-- cursor being this _, unable to delete the 'g'

Hitting return again then gives "bash: g: command not found".
There is a bug here somewhere.
