The .hdr files are just teh headers that up2date downloads first to show what is available to upgrade. They are a lot smaller since they are not the packages themselves so you don't need to worry about them. The packages themselves will download once update knows what you want to accomplish. Otherwise things will take a lot longer to do. Just install the rpm's and that should do the trick.
