I now have a second SCSI disk I am trying to use for Linux only.

My old SCSI CD-ROM changer isn't working properly, leaving me with only the USB CD-RW
to read the installation disks. The installer, of course, doesn't recognize USB. I
copied both disks to separate FAT partitions on sda. No matter what I try, I cannot
gain access to those partitions from install. And since I can't boot in Linux (the
boot diskettes I made on a previous installation result in "Kernel panic: Can't
install OS on 08:07." I presume that means sda7.

I want to install Linux on sdb. As received, it has a 4Gb FAT partition and 4+Gb not
designated. I want to format it all for Linux.

I hope there is a way to install around these obstacles without buying a new CD-ROM; I
have already spent too much money on this project!
