Some corrections to my last post:

1) Neither cdrom worked. The upgrade apparently kept the heart of /etc/fstab,
but added in a few other items. It kept my old cdrom mount settings, which
weren't compatable with 7.2. cdrom is now hdc, cdrom1 is now sr0. Once I made
the changes it's now working.

6) I had modified one of the ports to allow ftp access for a friend of mine who
attends a college that has blocked port 21 so the students can't ftp off campus.
That wasn't working. The line I had added to /etc/services in the local section
at the bottom of the file had been deleted. I added it in, and now it's
working.

7) Telnet and ftp weren't working. They were disabled apparently intentionally
in the xinetd.d directory. I modified their configuration files and now they're
up.
