NEVERMIND!  Chris--this worked!  I just had to stop KDE, 
and begin it again (I also logged out and then back in for 
good measure) :-)

Also, Charles: I went to your page, and was *flabbergased* 
at your .emacs file!  What the heck does all that DO??? 
(Don't answer that, I probably wouldn't get it! <grin!>)  
However I wouldn't mind a few pointers on how I can learn 
all that!  Thanks in advance...
