Run authconfig.... and also make sure you have a host/dns entry for your nis/nis+ server.

Thank you steven for the reply. We reinstalled the NIS packages and seems to work a little bit. But I get the following error message when I start up the system... ypbind listening to server....[FAILED] After the system starts up,and we restart the ypbind and portmap...its working fine(like ypcat ypasswd displays the passwd file on server). What could be the problem with this??. Thanks, Laxman. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp _______________________________________________ Seawolf-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/seawolf-list _______________________________________________ Seawolf-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/seawolf-list
