Hi there. I need to make an chokepoint with ipchains in RH 7.1. I just got one problem: I need to know the syntax for the FORWARD option/chain, or something info that how it works. I will do one machine that acts only as a firewall, so, lets say that the fw's ip is 10.1.1.0 and i need to forward all smtp requests that comes in to fw machine, to my mail server which ip is 10.1.1.1, so how do i get the forward working.? Simply, what kindaof rule i should put into my forward chain?
example: ipchains -A forward -p tcp -s 0.0.0.0/0 25 -d 10.1.1.1 -j ACCEPT or something? So, every time when my fw gets a smtp packet from anywhere, it should be forwarded to my mail server? if this is the syntax, i'm happy, and if its not, please point out the correct syntax for me.
