All, I'm familiar with the general principles of rebuilding a kernel, but in the case of my workstation, I can only boot to Linux using a floppy. Can anyone tell me what additional steps are necessary (besides typical kernel build issues) in order to boot a new kernel using a floppy? I'm not really sure if the kernel itself resides on the floppy, or if the floppy merely points to a location on my hard drive that contains the kernel...
