Hello.

Delete win98,later install win2k,later boot linux with floppy and add in 
/etc/lilo.conf the win2k label
,will be the same than win98,for know the name (hda1,hda2),use "cfdisk" for list 
partitions.
I do this some days ago and runs well.Win2k will not delete nothing if You don�t 
want,and you can use 
the win98 partition ,and if you want you can format these to NTFS when install.
