I am running Red Hat 7.1 on my server and have been using 'up2date' to keep
my system upgraded. This weekend I initiated an upgrade including the
latest kernel. Everything was OK until I rebooted the system at which point
it failed to restart. I recovered by 'downgrading'
the kernel using my original installation CDs and everything
appears to be working ok, EXCEPT that 'up2date' fails to connect to the RHN
server with the following message:

Error communicating with the server. The message was:
SSL_connect error

The only other change is that I am now running the server behind a NAT
router (WinRoute) rather than a direct Internet connection, but this has
worked ok before.

Is it possible that something else in my Linux configuration is disabling
correct operation of the SSL protocol?

I have also attempted to use 'rhn_register' to set up a new profile but
this also gives the same 'SSL_connect error' message.
