1) If you want to recover your lost file try to run vi with option -r. This 
should give you a list of recoverable files. Find your one and run 
        vi -r thefile

2) About the error message - check whether in the firewall2002a.sh file there 
are no unclosed structures: if, while, brackets, do..done or anything.
Try to place some checkpoints: 
        echo "Here I am" 
and see whether they appear in places where they should appear.
