ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS/ Upgrade (rpm -Uvh <packages>) the initscripts, modutils, SysVinit, then upgrade kernel headers, doc, source, then INSTALL (rpm -ivh) the kernel and kernel-smp rpm's, then update your lilo or grub to boot the right image making sure your /boot has the correct image and links point to the right kernel version, then make a new bootdisk.
