I had one of those on permanent loan from a colleague and was sad to
return it to him when I scrubbed the last machine that had windows on it.

That's the danger of dancing with the devil though.

If you're shopping at a major consumer electronics store for new
peripheral devices, it's important to do your research in advance and see
what the driver/support status is for the device you intend to buy.

I was quite upset recently when shopping for a scanner and I found that
not a single one of the scanners they stocked would work under windows.
