Look at LNX-BBC and/or Linuxcare bootable CD. They are both 50 meg iso images
that make a bootable distribution, including X, SSH, and basic applications.
The linuxcare bootable CD looks nicer, but will not boot off a SCSI cdrom, so
I use LNX-BBC.

Find some Business card Cd's and burn a copy, and stick it in your wallet. I
carry both with me and a DEMOLINUX CD in the car for just this reason. It's
sad though, most guys Cary a condom in their wallet, I carry a rescue CD,
just in case......

For running X remotely, heres is what you do.

1. run X (you may need to run startx first)
2. export DISPLAY=:0
3. ssh -c blowfish -C -X -l (user) -p (port) (host)
This will start ssh on the proper host using compression and the fast blowfish
cipher. Once all this is running run startkde or what ever else you want to.
