Look into the file /etc/inittab and search for the line with initdefault
in it. There's a number in it, that's the runlevel the computer will
boot into. To get the graphical login it must be 5 (Red Hat Linux
specific). If it is 5, then you have a problem with X and should look
into /var/log/messages.
